Tipula varipennis mating which took about 90 minutes. Mating begins on 4 June 10:30 and ends at 12:00

Fresh emerged female Tipula varipennis rest in the low vegetation and start to emit sex pheromones.

First male arrived at 10:40.

The mating pare changed position so that female is the upper one.

At time 11:20 arrived second male but it flew soon away.

After that the mating continued until 12:00.
